I'll get on up out this rut someday I get stuck, I get stumped, I get carried away stuck in all the in betweens that aint got no names caught up in the bramble, stranded in the rain I keep on writing rambling songs but I aint going no place self medicated, frustrated and jaded so lonely lonely lonely getting fucked up and faded there's so many girls in the bar tonight for a change but my words keep getting slurred as they make their way out my face I aint known a woman's touch now for so many days I've reached the born-again-virgin stage of not getting laid I know what to say and I know what to do but I'm too messed up to get up and make a move

92.
hope is a skill much like any other practice don't make perfect, it just makes a problem comes loaded with solutions love aint nothing but the total absence of hate prayer goes up in myriad variation in drink, in dance, in casual conversation in each other's dream we sew our hopeful schemes tail of the river, mouth of the sea open circuit of mud and brine those we've lost, the ones who've left us here in our thoughts, in the air electric in each other's dream we feed our hopeful schemes one unit, cool and complete in the wake of the second line even though it's dark times in the kingdom love and light ruled so hard tonight
93.
I bent my head to the stream and I fed a feast of electric blue light my consciousness is mine to remix and tune however I like flashing on, sine wave of the time grab me some cloud when I want to sit down to ease the ache of body and mind aint nobody's business how you get your kicks no one can walk in the shoes you drive stepping hard, big and bright flutter and wow, here and now phase shift of the infinite ride static and hiss, the rub, the twist color the tape as it winds over and on, wound up tight
94.
you win some, you win none you have fun, you had fun you're undone, you're a whole one little everything you feel bad, you feel good you ought to, you should you're the real thing, you're a ghost dream little everything we all haunt the same grand hall one by one peel like paint from these walls you're hot babe, you're a cold doll your glass eyes seen it all you're a dust spec, you're the whole mess little everything we are pulled from the same dirt root bones and fur, teeth deep in the fruit you unwind, you rewind you playback, you divine you build sense, you hop fence little everything
95.
96.
there's a low mean light thrown down by the moon pushing through this chilly, love-less room it's a hard line, the kind that don't cut no groove stone cold sober and bored to death I watch the candle flicker, take another breath both feet on the breaks, dead weight still on the move don't know what you're made of till you get took apart fingernails and bootprints in every vital part it's a soft life, that's just salt in the wound don't take it so hard, this too shall pass just like the good times, don't nothing last the plot tends to twist when the story-line forgets to move fixed to a point, a ground for every wire parameters surround every kind of fire it's my own hands that done most the damage, it's true both feet lift off for a fraction of a sec when you walk with purpose and some bounce in your step you dance till you don't, that's the move
97.
for the first time in a long while feeling good, feeling alright it's bound to pass and I don't mind I was counting my blessings when I bent all my fingers and toes no more guessing, I'm in the know sometimes my minds eye fix on a stink vibe sometimes I don't see further than my nose I forget that I am where my attention goes I been walking the straight and narrow loose and wide, high and low don't matter where or how get on the go for the first time in a long while I'm feeling good, feeling alright it's bound to pass and I don't mind
98.
it was the best of times it was the worst I can remember if I stretch my mind I can touch a sweet surrender in the tender spots of my harshest season time is always on well money spent on libations a plenty we wrecked our heads we swallowed every penny full bellies swoll on treasure and heavy metal song time is always on body on our tongue we ate alley mulberries the setting sun throwing color at the LSD that low sweet rung we swung from like a tire swing time is always on

about

Jonathan Burks Milwaukee, Wisconsin

"When the going gets weird, the weird turn pro"

here's some pro tips:

1) Keep a scream journal. Scream into a camera or microphone at least once a day. Any word or sound will work. "FUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUCK" seems to work for me.

2) Dance for 5 minutes daily. Dance on the way to the bathroom or kitchen. Dance as ugly as you can.

3) Make funny faces. Sit in front of a mirror and get strange.
