WSP 168 Third Floor, One Bedroom

lyrics

there's circles on the floorboards
where I wound my nights
into the cupboards of
my neighbor's lives

running down this small room
my secrets storm the halls
the best and the worst of me
dripping from these walls

I'm leaving here and I'm never coming back
the past holds dear what don't fit on a future track

imprints from my forehead
blood from my tongue
air still displaced
from my lowest rung

hole in the drywall
fist shaped in size
salt in the carpet
shook from my eyes

I'm leaving here and I'm never coming back
it's getting clear this is not my fade to black

handled my possessions
piece by piece
till they granted their blessings
and set me free

now I'm nothing but a body
a man shaped leaf
guided by the fall
pinched from the tree

I'm leaving here and I'm never coming back
the heart of fear fills up what you think you lack

about

Jonathan Burks Milwaukee, Wisconsin

"When the going gets weird, the weird turn pro"

here's some pro tips:

1) Keep a scream journal. Scream into a camera or microphone at least once a day. Any word or sound will work. "FUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUCK" seems to work for me.

2) Dance for 5 minutes daily. Dance on the way to the bathroom or kitchen. Dance as ugly as you can.

3) Make funny faces. Sit in front of a mirror and get strange.
