about

live at the Tonic Tavern on February 17th, 2013

lyrics

I try to keep my mind on the sunny side of the street
but my feet they creep
can't seem to keep my tracks on a solid path
toes grabbing nothing but sand
hand full of slivers, shiver me timbers
pull that schtick, bust a gut until it heave ho
a ragged melody

wearing out my body
dressing up the blues
stomping out that heartache
wearing out my dancing shoes

I got a thin frame but it hold a thick vein
my heart is large even though it aint always in charge
to tell the truth I'm a red hot mess
a piece of work, a work in progress
anxiety ridden alcoholic depressive
my resume's impressive
off as a box of frogs, I ams what I am
chockfull of faulty wiring and glitches in the program

birds of a feather form cozy formations
I'm flying solo got a futzy inner magnet
flight path erratic, head full of static
this is the only life, grab it
we are corpses projecting from the grave
we get one trip around the flame
until we hit that light and say goodnight
I can smell my wings singe every time I wave goodbye
